Waiting...

Take me back to those alleys
Where childhood smiles,
Where the hawkers bawl out
Yet the customers buy.
.
Tourists search for antiques,
Students for sutta avenues,
Beggars for some alms to keep,
And people like us who seek
To form memories.
.
The staring aunt will wait,
With sneer in brows and tea soaked bread,
The good owner of a restaurant
With some extra cheese
And less charged statement,
Or that bhaiya from antique shop
Who denied to bargain and later
Sold in half from what he claimed.
.
But even if my heart craves,
For now, Banaras will have to wait,
Banaras will have to wait.
And I know that Banaras will wait.
