Uncalled laughters at choicest of times
My smile turns up
At choicest of times,
Sometimes unaccompanied,
Sometimes with sniggers.
.
Today while having a discussion
About the ongoing pandemic
And my convocation,
The neighborhood music system
Which was brought up
For marriage purpose,
Blared some weird song,
The one that is played on loop
When people in love
Are separated or removed.
.
Me and brother,
Astonishingly calm
Looked towards each other
Funnily alarmed.
'The eyes Chico, they don't lie'
Well,
Neither do they help in stopping a smile.
.
We burst out laughing,
Our tears peeking from both ends.
The hands covered mouth,
Our faces turned away,
As surprised ones unaware, turned in frown.
Topic that was in discussion
Was of death and oxygen and medical compounds.
.
Even though the glare was enough,
Subduing a laughter is really tough.
We broke eye contact,
Thought some more about life, career, and situational facts,
Our laugh vanished, lost somewhere in our thoughtful tracts.
